Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actress and singer who was of Irish descent. The green-eyed beauty with flaming hair was popular for her fiery and passionate parts in numerous American films. Her beautiful look and natural beauty was well-loved. The actress was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her characters onscreen reflected her strong, brave spirit, fighting for respect and survival in the male-dominated world. She was known as "the tough Irish woman", and she would not be willing to sacrifice admiration for other people to be able to play the roles she was entitled to through merit. She stood up for injustices and unfair treatment of women actors throughout her film career. She also gained many fans. The autobiography of her, 'Tis herself", which was released in 2004 provided an honest and honest about her experience, including her struggles as she climbed the ladder to achieve success. She was an adventurous person who was never afraid to perform her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films, and was a well-known star all around the globe. Following her departure from Parra and remarried in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and a pioneer in transatlantic aviation, just to mention some of the accomplishments. O'Hara went on to retire a few years after their wedding. Blair, however, died in a fatal plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's bliss was not long-lasting. In the same year she was diagnosed with having uterine cancer . She had to undergo immediate surgery. She later recovered. The following years her health was declining and she suffered from six heart attacks, memory loss in the short term as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, who was 95 years old old, passed peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on 24 October 2015.
